Data Sources

Data Sources provide SGNL with valuable business context in order to make policy decisions. When you configure a datasource, you tell SGNL how to connect to the source, as well as describe the types of objects and attributes you want to bring into the SGNL graph.

SGNL connects to a range of data sources leveraging open-standards such as SCIM, as well as with proprietary APIs.

Before you configure a Data Source, it’s important to consider what data you need to support your SGNL Policies. SGNL can filter data based on types of entities (e.g. users, groups, accounts) as well as attributes. For Data Sources that support it, SGNL can also use scoped tokens and credentials to adhere to the principles of least privilege.
